Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Everything is free during the launch period. Later there will be an optional Pro plan; the basic dual subtitles stay free.

Do I need an account?

No. Install it, open a programme on SVT Play, SVT Barn, UR Play, NRK TV or DR TV, and the second line appears.

What happens to my data?

No account, no tracking, no ads. Subtitle lines are sent for translation, and translated lines are shared anonymously so the next viewer gets them instantly. Your saved words never leave your browser. Details in the privacy policy.

Why does a programme say its subtitles are burned in?

Some foreign films on SVT have the Swedish text inside the picture instead of a subtitle file. Click the extension icon (or press Alt+Shift+S) and it reads the text from the picture.

Does it work on my phone or TV?

Not yet – it is a desktop browser extension (Chrome, Edge, Brave).
